Why did you choose to study at Dundee?

I chose to study in Dundee because it was a place that I had visited many times and thought that it was a great city to be in. As Dundee University is a campus university, accomodation and shops are nearby. Everything is at hand. Dundee University also has a very good reputation.

What is the best thing about your course and why?

The best thing about the BSc International Business course is the variety of different subjects that you study. As the course is split between two different schools, the School of Accounting and the School of Economics, you get to experience different aspects of the business world. When you enter your final years you get to choose some of your own modules. This is great as it means that you can specialise in the aspects that you enjoy the most.

What information do applicants need to know before starting this course?

As with any university course, the teaching methods are very different from school and it can take a bit of getting used to. There is a lot less contact time and more private study time will be required.

What has been your best learning experience to date and why?

Participating in group activities. You are often put in a group with people that you do not know which means that you have to get used to how they work, but also at the same time you get to know one another quite well and most of the time they become good friends who you keep in touch with.

What has been your best university experience to date and why?

Enjoying a variety of themed nights at DUSA. They are extremely well organised, always really busy and overall a great night out. All the students really get into the spirit of the theme and make a real effort for the night.

What was your experience of settling into life in Dundee when you first arrived?

I found settling into Dundee quite easy. As I stayed in University halls of residence in first year it meant that everyone was in the same boat as me, moving away from home for the first time, and you could support one another settling into life in Dundee. We were all able to go out together and make the most of living and experiencing life in Dundee.
