Lee studied Product Design. He graduated with a BSc in 2010.
I chose the product design course at Dundee as it was the only course that blended industrial design with digital electronics. It also seemed like a very fun and creative course. After spending some time at the University during open days, I knew it was the place for me!
During my final year at Dundee, I was offered an internship at Nokia Design in London and have been there ever since designing and building fully working prototypes for the User Experience department.
My degree has helped me as I now have a unique set of skills that have made me more curious and willing to find out how things work so I can then build upon, adapt or even create my own version of it - I now enjoy getting my hands dirty!
Having the opportunity to present a product concept in front of three hundred people at the Microsoft headquarters in Seattle, USA with an interdisciplinary team of product and interactive media designers. It was a great experience to see what other courses around the world were doing and to meet some of the best minds in the country was amazing!
The people - I have met lots of great people from industry and made some lifelong friends from the course during the four years. Problem solving is a lot easier and enjoyable when you can bounce ideas around and it made working in teams great.
