Jolana, from Karvina in the Czech Republic, is studying for an MA in Politics and International Relations.
I chose to study at the University of Dundee because it offers exactly the course I was looking for and with many attractive modules. And also the tennis courts played their role too :)

The amazing thing about studying here is that you can take subjects that are not necessarily part of your degree. Also you can start with a new language or continue with one you already know. The library here is also truly amazing and I have to say, it is my favourite part of the campus. It's an ideal place for writing your essays: silent, comfortable and friendly.
Getting settled into life here was actually really smooth. I was given a map and many other bits of useful information on the first day so I always knew exactly where to go or who to ask. Everyone was really helpful, even random strangers on the street. New students shouldn't feel scared as there is always someone to help you with anything you might need.
Since arriving, I've also become involved with both the tennis club and cinema CALS, a great way to meet new people and make friends.
