Why did you choose to study at Dundee?

The friendly atmosphere of the city, low cost of living and modern teaching labs. At Dundee you get the best of a campus university with buildings being together and easy to find, with the best of a city university, not becoming stuck in a 'student bubble' and having more places to go than just the student union.

What was your best university experience and why?

My best university experience was working in a research lab between 3rd and 4th year and then for my honours project. It gave me the chance to apply the principles that had been taught and I could then understand why we had been taught what we had. Also it is a great feeling when you discover something no one has known before and your experiments finally work.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

My advice for potential students is to seek help before any personal, financial or academic problems become too severe. It can be difficult living away from home and being independent for the first time but there are tons of services in the uni and the support available is fantastic.

Get involved in clubs and societies, university is about more than just turning up and getting through, make the most of your time here.
