Ildiko Pete

Ildiko Pete, from Hungary, graduated in 2009 with an MSc in Applied Computing.

Before coming to Dundee I studied International Communication in Budapest. Coming from a non-IT related background, I spent a long time looking for the perfect opportunity that would allow me to realize my plans of gaining valuable knowledge in the field of IT.

The Applied Computing course perfectly fulfilled this requirement and provided me an excellent way to obtain relevant skills. The institution's focus on research was also highly beneficial throughout the course, as it ensures that students get insight not only into well-known areas of computer science but into newly emerging studies which will shape tomorrow's world.

The course did not only provide me solid knowledge, it allowed me to work and study in multi-cultural teams, where the members have diverse backgrounds. Therefore I have gained so much, not only professionally but also personally, and I can say that I spent an exceptionally good year in Dundee.

Having just finished the course, I am confident that I have the perfect foundations to start a career in IT.
