Gaurav Khanna graduated with a PhD in Concrete Technology (Civil Engineering) in 2010.
He graduated with an M.Tech (Distinction) in Construction Technology and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi (IITD) in 2006. Prior to this, he graduated in 2004 with a BEng (Hons) from the Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in Chandigarh. My name is Gaurav Khanna. Coming from the "City Beautiful" of India to the "City of Discovery" in the UK, I have found Dundee a fitting place for an aspirational researcher. The Concrete Technology Unit within the Civil Engineering department is a place where research ideas are nurtured and flourish under the supervision of a world class research group, supported by state-of-the-art research facilities.
I am currently working on concrete durability and Service Life Modelling. My PhD research aims to develop a new economical and environmentally sustainable durability design based on the "Equivalent Durability Concept", and stochastic modelling of the service life of concrete structures with respect to the carbonation-induced corrosion. The findings of the study are directly influencing decisions being made at European level for updating EN 206-1 in year 2010.
