Feso Bright

Feso, from Lagos, Nigeria, graduated in 2011 with an MBA (Distinction) in International Oil & Gas Management.

Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

I chose the University of Dundee because of the CEPMLP (Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy) - I reckoned it was the best place to get an Oil and Gas MBA education.

What are your immediate plans after graduation?

I have set up an online community of practice: www.themixoilandwater.com to keep the knowledge sharing going. I intend to return to the Energy industry with a fresh perspective on how to make things happen in a proactive and research-backed manner.

What are your longer term career plans?

I intend to help build the Oil & Gas Management, Strategy and Policy space in Nigeria within the context of a thriving regional oil and gas hub.

What information do you think applicants need to know before starting this course?

They need to know what they want to do with their careers and what their current core competencies are. This will allow them to gain the most mileage with the multitude of course offerings at the CEPMLP.

What was the most enjoyable thing about your degree and why?

I enjoyed the research-writing and campus life; the research writing method at the CEPMLP allows (if you are a serious person) to explore the world of knowledge on all Energy, Oil and Gas matters. The Centre whets your appetite for knowledge on the industry.

I was living off-campus but just across the street. Great place. We had loads of Naija flat parties, the Gate Church was close-by and Tesco was just a minute away from my flat.

What sports activities or clubs/societies (if any) were you involved with?

I played basketball and was quite frequently at the gym. I also watched the volleyball games a few times.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

I would suggest that potential new students take advantage of every careers fair, exchange programme, enterprise gym and other extra-curricular association memberships. Play hard, study hard and make friends hard....lol!

How did you find settling into life in the UK?

Settling in was very orderly and smooth. The welcome is everywhere in the air.
