Fan Xia

Fan Xia, graduated MDes Master of Design in 2007 and has stayed on as a researcher.

I graduated in 2005 with a BA degree in Environmental Art Design in China. Before joining the Master of Design course at University of Dundee, I was offered a position as an interaction designer with Crystal Digital Technology Company (Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Graphic Design Services Supplier).

My research objective is to use Goal-Directed Design Methodology to facilitate design process and management, helping designers to create tractable interactive products to bring users pleasant using experiences.

After being awarded the Master of Design degree with Distinction in 2007, I am still with the University of Dundee doing an MPhil/PhD study of the potentials and limits of adapting western models of design and team management in a Chinese Context as an experienced international researcher.

I find that Dundeeis a small but nice city. It has plenty of shops, restaurants and cultural entertainment and also has beautiful countryside and seaside nearby. The university campus is located 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The city suits for both studying and living. I quite enjoy my life here.
