Eilidh McKay is currently studying for a degree in Art, Philosophy & Contemporary Practice and spent a semester at L'École Superiéure des Beaux d'Angers, France, under the Erasmus programme.
"My Erasmus experience was wonderful. I met many very kind people and all were helpful. It was an interesting experience in which I learned so much, both artistically, academically and personally.
It was not always easy, but I think an exchange must provoke you to step outside your comfort zone. Learning the language was an intrinsic part of the process, as it came hand in hand with the culture. I was very lucky in finding good friends, whom I am still in contact with, and I went back to France over the summer to stay with them.
The experience was extremely rewarding for new inspiration and renewed perspective on my studies. I would advise exchange students to get involved with everything they can, and take on each experience with enthusiasm and optimism and you cannot go wrong!"
