Cristiane, from Ribeirao Preto in Brazil, is studying for a PhD in Plant Sciences.
I chose to study at the University of Dundee because the area of research I wanted to do is non-existent in Brazil.
One of the best things about being here is having flexible hours to do experiments.
My best learning experience so far has been learning English! This has also helped my career prospects as I've now got loads of experience with research abroad and have increased my networking outside Brazil.
Settling in to Dundee was easy in all aspects (except food!) and so far life here has been great! There are helpful people and I've made nice friends. I've also enjoyed taking part in activities such as indoor climbing and mountain hiking.
