What are your immediate plans after graduation?

After a bit of time off and relaxation, job-hunting would be top of the agenda! Failing that, taking on any placements or activities which would help further my future career.

What are your longer term career plans (if any)?

Firstly, to secure a job which is enjoyable and related to my degree. What the future holds is always a mystery but I'm always looking to further my personal development.

What information do you think applicants need to know before starting this course?

Search out the relevant contacts and lecturers from the course you're interested in and have a chat. These will be your main contacts during your 3 or 4 years so it's an excellent opportunity to gain that insight. The Town and Regional Planning staff, for one, are very approachable in this regard.

What was the most enjoyable thing about your degree and why?

Learning has been the most enjoyable part of the 4 years - opening up a whole new world of opportunity and opening my eyes to things which I had never noticed before.

Why? Definitely because of the passion, knowledge, friendliness and approachability of the lecturers. Whenever a problem arises in coursework or whether just for a general chat, almost always they are available for drop-in chats without the need for appointments. The staff (i.e. reception, library and IT) are always helpful too.

What was your best university experience and why?

The 3rd year piece of coursework without a doubt! Having the opportunnity to present my coursework to Dundee City Council and consequently achieving a 2nd place Civic Award.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

Student life is fast-paced, but don't let things get out of focus - prepare well ahead for upcoming coursework and exams and do not leave it to the last minute! The turtle wins the race.
