Abhishek

Abishek came from India, and graduated in 2008 with BSc (Hons) E-Commerce Computing.

Before coming to Dundee I was doing BTEC HND in Computing and Business Applications from British Council, New Delhi, India. I came here to study BSc E-Commerce Computing, and I graduated in 2008.

Between 3rd and 4th year, I did a work placement with NCR to develop a business model for mobile commerce industry keeping NCR's interest in mind. Initially I did lots of market research about this industry, read many marketing research papers and then analyzed the material in a way so that it can be used in making strategies for NCR. I also worked with my supervisor to produce a paper for Mobey Forum on Mobile Financial Services.

My Honours project was related to mobile commerce field, working with NCR again. It includes mobile application development, security, management and then some business aspect which covers NCR's role as Trusted Service Manager in this industry.

The two years at Dundee has been the most challenging and fruitful period of my life. I really achieved a lot in the 4th year and all the credit goes to the computing department in showing faith in me and awarding me Discovery scholarship.

I am now working as an analyst with BlackRock Solutions (a sister company of Merrill Lynch). I started my training in New York before joining the Edinburgh office.
