“By creating we think, by living we learn” Patrick Geddes
Inspiring Future Nurses (IFN) is a project set-up by the School of Nursing and Midwifery. It aims to encourage school pupils from target schools in Tayside and Fife to consider a career in Nursing by first undertaking the study of nursing at the University. Pupils should have the potential to succeed at University, along with an interest in becoming a Nurse. They must also be nominated by their school.
IFN aims to create a group of interested pupils who will form a pre-Nursing group. The project will provide this group with:

| 'Nursing - is it for you?' | S3-S6 | Any | Meet current nursing students. Find out how to get work experience. Are you sure Nursing is for you? Learn about University Nursing courses. |
| Life as a Nursing student | S4-S6 | Any | Attend a lecture, follow a student for the day. Find out about University life. |
| CPD sessions for Guidance | Staff and Careers Advisers | Any | Facts about Nursing and Nursing degrees. What makes a good application? Where can a degree in Nursing take the student? |
| Life as a Nursing student - Visit Day | S4-S6 | 19 June 2012 | Day of Workshops - learn more about nursing as a career. |

Pupils from these schools or any other secondary school in Tayside and Fife who are interested in joining the IFN group can apply by downloading and completing a form available here: PDF or Word. The pupil's school will be asked to verify the application.
