Dundee is approximately 80 miles from Glasgow International Airport, as can be reached by taxi, train or bus, as follows. Please note there are two major airports in Glasgow, Prestwick is further from Dundee than Glasgow International.
Taxis are available outside the airport terminal – there is a fixed fare to Dundee which is approximately £120. This option is the quickest, but most expensive method of transport. If there are two or more students travelling together this may provide a cost-effective option.
There are regular direct trains from Glasgow Queen Street Station (not Central!) to Dundee. All trains to Aberdeen (or Dyce) stop at Dundee.
The cost of a standard single fare from Glasgow to Dundee is £21.40.
Coaches operated by Citylink and Fairline run from the Airpoint to Queen Street station, until 23:00. These are every 10-15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. It costs £3.00 one way, and takes around 30 minutes.
A taxi from Glasgow Airport to Queen Street Station will cost approximately £20 depending on the time of day. These are available from outside the terminal, a short walk from UK arrivals.
The journey time is approximately 90 minutes. The station immediately before Dundee is Perth.
There are regular buses from Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station to Dundee. The buses run between 06.15 and 23.00 and the journey takes 2 hour. The cost of a standard single fare from Glasgow to Dundee is £12.00.
