If you arrive in Edinburgh on a flight from an airport outside the UK you will pass through Immigration Control before collecting your luggage and going through Customs, where you may be questioned by Customs officials. If you have 'goods to declare' you should pass through the red channel. If you have 'nothing to declare' you should pass through the green channel.
If you pass through Immigration Control in London before taking a connecting flight to Edinburgh, your luggage will be transferred directly to your connecting flight.
Customs officials may ask to examine your luggage and see the contents. They can remove items which you are not allowed to bring to the UK, or ask you to pay tax or duty on certain items. Before you arrive you should study the list of items that you may not bring to the UK or for which you may have to pay duty or tax.

If you cannot find your luggage, speak to your airline. They will arrange to locate your luggage and deliver it to Dundee. They may be able to provide you with a small overnight bag to help you until your luggage arrives. You will need to give the airline your Dundee accommodation address for delivery of your luggage.
