This is a part-time (typically three hours per week) course aimed primarily at matriculated University of Dundee students whose first language is not English. It runs for ten weeks in each of the two semesters.
To join the programme you need to attend an introduction and placement test. This will be held for the final time this semester at 17.00 on Friday 27 January in Computer Suite C in the basement of the Tower building. Please bring your matriculation card.
Fees : There is no charge to students for these classes.
The programme is designed to support international students, undergraduate and postgraduate, in their first year of study at Dundee (though we also accept students in subsequent years).
Starting a new course of university study is always a challenge, but it is more of a challenge when you are living in a foreign country and studying through the medium of a foreign language. The aim of the English Support Programme is to help you meet that challenge by increasing your knowledge, skills and confidence.

There is no formal assessment in the English Support Programme.
Students receive regular feedback from staff. Students who take writing courses are expected to submit regular short assignments and receive detailed written feedback on these, and most students who take speaking classes will make seminar presentations, on which they will also receive written feedback.
