Rest of UK Bursaries

We are offering a range of undergraduate bursaries and scholarships in light of recent Scottish Government funding changes.

This comprehensive package of support is designed to promote the diversity of our student body and emphasise our commitment both to widening access and promoting academic excellence.

Bursaries

Up front bursaries are available to support student living costs.  Eligibility is primarily based on significant family financial need, but in addition you should be:

Two levels of bursary are available:

Financial eligibility will be confirmed via information provided by you to the Student Loans Company. When you apply to the Student Loans Company for a Student Loan, they will calculate your eligibility for a University of Dundee RUK Bursary. If you are eligible, they will arrange to pay you.

To receive a bursary you need to receive and firmly accept a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of Dundee. If you have received a conditional offer, you must meet the conditions of that offer.

Part time applicants will be eligible on a pro-rata basis assuming all eligibility conditions are met.

Adult returners will be eligible assuming all eligibility conditions are met.

Clearing applicants will be not eligible.

Bursaries will be paid in cash, in two instalments each year of your studies, subject to satisfactory academic progression.

Rest of UK general funding guidance

The University of Dundee's Rest of UK tuition fee for 2012/13 was £9,000 for all undergraduate programmes. You can apply for a University of Dundee scholarship and be eligible for a University of Dundee bursary.

Rest of UK students will receive the 4th year of tuition free on degree programmes which are normally offered as 3 yrs of study in the rest of the UK, and where a 3 year version has not been provided at the University of Dundee for appropriately qualified students.

Rest of UK students will not have to pay anything up front for their tuition as the costs are covered by a non-means tested government loan. Loans are only repayable following graduation when the student earns more than £21,000 per year for students from England and Wales or over £15,795 for students from Northern Ireland.
