School of Medicine Scholarships

The School of Medicine is offering a number of scholarships to applicants for its Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate programmes.You will find more information about eligibility, deadlines and how to apply below.

Postgraduate International

Minimal Access Surgery

The Cuschieri Skills Centre is offering the following Scholarships up to the value of £5,000 towards tuition fees for applicants for its Taught Postgraduate programme:

  1. Financial Hardship Scholarship
  2. Academic Merits Scholarship

Restrictions: You can apply for both scholarships but only one Scholarship towards tuition fees will be awarded.

MRes Cancer Biology Scholarship

£500 - £3,000 scholarship towards tuition fee for international students entering MRes Cancer Biology. The amount awarded will be based on merit following an independent assessment of each application.

COTACyT Scholarship (MRes Cancer Biology)

10% off tuition fee for Mexican nationality students entering MRes Cancer Biology

How to apply

Once you have been given an offer to study, we will send you a Scholarship form by email.

You must complete the form and return to Admissions and Student Recruitment, as per the instructions provided.

You will be notified whether you have been successful in being awarded a Scholarship or not. 

As these Scholarships are limited you should to complete and return the form as soon as possible. If you do not return the Scholarship form you cannot be awarded a Scholarship at a later date.

Closing date

The closing date for Scholarship applications for courses starting September 2013 is 1st July 2013, and for courses starting in January 2014 the closing date is 15th November 2013.

Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship

The Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship is open to any applicant who has accepted a place to study undergraduate medicine or dentistry at the University of Dundee.  Up to six scholarships are awarded each year and the value of a scholarship is in the order of £2,000 per annum (including pre-medicine or pre-dentistry year, if applicable). This is awarded for each year of the course of study, subject to a satisfactory academic record.  Selection is usually made on financial hardship grounds.

Application forms for the Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship are sent out to eligible applicants towards the end of April, and they should be returned by the end of August each year. The Trustees of the scheme make the final decision on who is awarded the scholarship.
