The College of Life Sciences, School of Learning & Teaching is offering a number of scholarships to applicants for its Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate programmes.You will more information about eligibility, deadlines and how to apply below.

Postgraduate International

MSc Forensic Art, MSc Medical Art, MSc Forensic Facial Identification

Competitive scholarships are available to selected applicants. These scholarships are worth approximately £2,000 and are selected based on academic achievement and a personal statement.

MSc Human Anatomy, MSc Anatomy & Advanced Forensic Anthropology

Competitive scholarships are available to selected applicants. These are selected based on academic achievement and a personal statement.

How to Apply

Once you have been given an offer to study in the College of Life Sciences, School of Learning & Teaching at the University of Dundee, we will send you an email telling you how to apply for a Scholarship.

You must complete the form, as soon as possible, and return it as per the instructions provided.

We will notify you after the closing date, to let you know whether you have been successful in being awarded a Scholarship or not. 

Deadline

The closing date for Scholarship applications for courses starting September 2013 is 1st July 2013, and for courses starting in January 2014 the closing date is 15th November 2013.

Restrictions

If you are being sponsored or are receiving a discount on your fees due to an articulation agreement, then you cannot apply for a University of Dundee Academic School scholarship.

You can apply for several scholarships but only one Scholarship towards tuition fees will be awarded.

Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (MRes Crops for the Future)

A scholarship which pays the difference between home & overseas tuition fee for international research students, including MRes Crops for the Future. This award is administered differently to the School Scholarships, please visit our ORSAS webpage for more information.

5% discount on advance payment of tuition fees

A 5% discount on tuition fees is applicable for international applicants who pay the full amount (for the year), in advance, by a given deadline. Please visit our 5% discount webpage for full details.

Postgraduate Home/EU

BBSRC Masters Training Grants (MRes Crops for the Future)

Home students can be awarded full tuition fees and living expenses (inc. accommodation) and EU students are awarded fees only - MRes Crops for the Future.  This award is administered differently to the School Scholarships, all queries should be directed to the course contact, Prof Andy Flavell (a.j.flavell@dundee.ac.uk).

MSc Medical Art / MSc Forensic Art (PSAS)

SAAS Postgraduate Students Allowances Scheme (PSAS) provides some funding for some Scots-domiciled and non-UK EU postgraduate students studying MSc Medical Art & MSc Forensic Art. For more information, visit our SAAS Postgraduate Funding webpage.

Undergraduate International

Sir James Black Academic Excellence in Life Sciences Scholarship

These scholarships will be awarded for academic excellence, and are worth £1,000 per year of your course.

These are applicable to all BSc undergraduate degree courses in the College of Life Sciences, School of Learning & Teaching.

You must have, or expect to gain, the equivalent of AAAAA in Scottish Highers, AAA in GCE A-levels, 37 points in IB (with 6, 6, 6 at Higher Level). Continuation of the Scholarship for subsequent years depends on continued academic excellence, recognised through a B2 average mark each year.

Sir James Black was Chancellor of the University of Dundee from 1992 to 2006. He was a Nobel-prize winning scientist renowned for his discovery of the beta-blocker, propranolol, and the H2 blocker, cimetidine (Tagemet), which transformed the treatment of angina and stomach ulcers respectively.

How to Apply

Once you have been given an offer to study in the College of Life Sciences, School of Learning & Teaching at the University of Dundee, we will send you an email telling you how to apply for a Scholarship.

You must complete the form, as soon as possible, and return it as per the instructions provided. We will invite selected applicants to interview before making a final decision on the award.

We will notify after the interviews, to let you know whether you have been successful in being awarded a Scholarship or not.
