This programme has been designed for practitioners working predominantly in the public and third sectors as service or project leaders with a strategic and operational responsibility for managing integrated services.

What is the Programme Actually About?

The programme is designed to support those who wish to build their capacity to respond to the challenges inherent in the development and delivery of integrated services. This programme has been designed for practitioners working predominantly in the public and third sectors with a strategic and/or operational responsibility for managing integrated services.

The programme has flexible entry and exit points allowing you to enter at a level appropriate to your level of education and experience. You are encouraged to seek credit for prior formal learning and for experience. The programme has 3 levels which are matched to the Scottish Credit and Qualifications framework level 7, 8 and 9.

Aims of the Programme

The aims of the programme are:

• to further develop the underpinning knowledge, attitudes and leadership skills required to manage complex integrated services
• to strengthen capacity to effectively lead and manage within and across interdisciplinary teams
• to use an understanding and application of quality assurance and quality improvement systems to enhance personal and organisational effectiveness
• to promote a broader understanding of the management and leadership of change and its implications in complex and dynamic settings
• to engage in work-based inquiry which will contribute to enhance professional practice.

Teaching and Learning

This programme is essentially delivered by online distance learning, allowing participants to continue in employment and study in their own locality. At times there may be the opportunity of workshops, if numbers are viable.

Entry Requirements

Participants usually have a professional qualification or experience of working in a profession for a number of years.

The qualification level depends on the level the participant wishes to gain entry:

• 3 Highers or equivalent (eg access to HE) allows entry to SCQF Level 7 (certificate level),
• for entry to Level 8 (diploma level), you need the equivalent of 120 credits,
• for entry to Level 9 (degree level), you need the equivalent of 240 credits.

Considerable opportunities are also available for the accreditation of prior and experiential learning.
