The student is challenged to consider management issues; and the various management roles which the nurse may engage in day-to-day work. This module enables the nurse to analyse their management ability in relation to a one-to-one relationship with their patient as well as within the multi-professional team.

The module assessment is practice focused and aims to facilitate the development of professional practice. Students are encouraged to engage with self-assessment activities throughout the learning experience. Formative assessment enables students to develop practice and academic process skills through tutor feed-back.
A text-based study guide is used to support learning for this module. The study guide helps the student make essential links between theory and practice and prepare for the module assessment. A dynamic tutorial support system operates with a tutor link to the module. Students are encouraged to use the tutorial system according to their need.
This module is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialling Centre (ANCC).
First level registered nurses in the UK or overseas equivalent for BN and BNPC. For MPC - students require to have a health-related first degree.
