Guidance Notes - Dundee University Access to Learning (DUAL)

How do I apply?

Click the button below to access the Electronic Application Service for Dundee University Access to Learning (DUAL).

However, we advise you to read the following guidance notes first and re-access them as required from the online form.

Using the application form

User Registration

Pick a memorable username and password, keep a note of them, and complete your registration details accurately, as these are the details we will use to contact you throughout the application process. You can save your application, logout, and return to complete the form at a later date. After saving your application, you will be sent an email containing a link back to your application, and reminding you of your username.

Additional information

Disability - the University encourages applications from students with disabilities and special needs and is keen to provide appropriate support for study and/or accommodation.

Criminal Convictions – if you have a criminal conviction that is not ‘spent’, you should disclose it. For some courses, this may affect whether you are accepted onto the course.

Residential category – this is collected to help us determine fee status, and/or Visa status, where relevant.

Nominated Access – this allows you to nominate some one such as a parent/guardian/adviser/partner, who can discuss your application with us if you are unavailable.

Personal statement

This is your opportunity to tell us why you have chosen this course, and what your career aspirations are. Writing your personal statement first in MS WORD or other word processing package, spell checking, and then pasting into the application form would be a good idea.

Nominators

Supply the details of a Nominator who can comment on your background, ability, suitability, and eligibility for your proposed programme. We will contact your Nominator immediately by email for more information, so please check with them first that they are willing to be your Nominator.
