Accounting & Finance are crucial to the functioning of organisations, the global economy and to the development of societies. We are at the leading edge of Accounting & Finance developments within the school and this innovaton is reflected in our research and in our teaching.

The research of the School covers a number of important areas such as financial markets, emerging markets, international financial reporting standards, social & environmental accounting, business management practices, critical accounting, Islamic accounting & finance and corporate governance. This eclectic mix of research interests amongst our staff means that we have a very vibrant atmosphere within the school which is both scholarly and challenging. This atmosphere is always friendly and engaging.

Our teaching reflects this vibrant atmosphere. Our modules include traditional technical accounting & finance material taught by qualified accountants from a number of professional bodies (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAI, ICAS) as well as leading edge courses taught by eminent professors that engage students in the latest thinking on a topic and ensure that students think critically about what they are doing; we aim to produce well-rounded professional leaders of the future.
