Scottish Doctoral Colloquium in Accounting & Finance, 15-16 June 2012

The Scottish Doctoral Colloquium in Accounting and Finance (ScotDoc) has been a core element of doctoral training in accounting and finance in Scotland for the past 15 years. The colloquium includes a mix of student presentations, plenary sessions and workshop sessions. Professor Power and Dr Lambert from the School of Business will conduct a plenary session on the topic of "What to Expect in the Viva Voce Examination." In addition, two workshops will be led by School of Business staff as follows: Professor Roslender will discuss "Methodological issues in qualitative accounting research" and Dr. Tantisantiwong's workshop is about the use of GARCH models in analysing financial data. This year the 2-day event is hosted by the University of Strathclyde. Over 80 postgraduates from across the UK will be in attendance, and 8 postgraduates from Dundee are amongst those presenting their research.
