What will life as a student be like?

We take a keen interest in the welfare of our students. On the first day students meet their adviser; a member of the School who looks after them throughout their time at Dundee. Accountancy & Finance students have their own Society which all new students are encouraged to join.

The Society arranges a number of social and other events including a welcome party for new students, an Annual Ball and careers presentations from visiting firms. The first year provides the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends - including the lecturers and tutors.

In the second year students visit a major local factory to see how a modern global business operates

In the third year some students spend a few days in London and visit an investment bank, the Bank of England and Lloyds Insurance Market.

In the fourth year students spend a night in Edinburgh and visit some fund managers.

Students also have the opportunity to spend their second year in North America to live and study in a completely different environment.
