This reading is optional (although we may have strongly recommended it to particular students) but if you are able to access any of the following you are encouraged to do so, including before you start here.
In the area of Accounting, if you want to read something introductory in English, the various texts authored or co-authored by Pauline Weetman may be consulted. Texts by Colin Drury and Bhimani/Horngren are useful background for Management Accounting, key focus of our management and accounting course.
In Finance, Richard Brealey and Stewart Myers, 'Principles of Corporate Finance' would be good background reading.
On our contemporary issues course, usage is made of leading journals such as Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Accounting Forum, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Advances in Public Interest Accounting and Critical Perspectives on Accounting, so you may want to access issues of this journal to get a sense of material covered.
Visit the websites of the School and the British Accounting Review Research Register to find out more about staff interests and academic interests in the UK generally.
If you are having difficulty finding anything but keen to start reading, please email the courses director, Dr Suzanne Fifield, s.g.m.fifield@dundee.ac.uk
