Richard Burns was Joint Senior Partner and Chief Investment Officer with Baillie Gifford, the Edinburgh-based investment management firm, and was the manager of the Monks Investment Trust (MNKS). He retired from Baillie Gifford in April 2006 after 33 years with the firm.
He is a director of five investment trusts and has non-executive roles with a number of voluntary organisations, including Donaldson's School for the Deaf.
